254 pp. Text is clean and unmarked. Covers have two closed tears in the front and a chip off of the bottom spine. Covers are attached and tight. Spine is worn. Author's signature is on the front free end paper. From the back cover, "LLoyd L. Brown...was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and raised in various orphanages in that city. He became a labor organizer in the early Thirties...In 1936 he went to Pittsburgh to take part in the drive to organize steel in the C. I. O. It is from the struggles in that area and his experiences as a labor prisoner that he has drawn his first novel."
