Angus and Robertson, Sydney, 1954. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Good. 102 pp., headings of the constituent sections, abbreviations, references and notes, index. Text illustrated with black and white photographs of contemporary prints. One quarter dark green coloured cloth with light green coloured boards with gilt writing on the front panel and on spine. Green coloured endpapers. The front panel is faded and there is a brown staining over most of the panel. Back panel also shows this brown staining. The endpapers are faded and brown staining also occurs on them. Previous owners name on ffep. The brown staining does not intrude into the internal pages. Illustrated dustwrapper, which is protected, showing a printed the Eureka Stockade, dark brown writing on front panel and on the spine. Brown staining commensurate with staining on the book present. Some minor rubbing of the edges of the dustwrapper. "This critical and penetrating study will undoubtedly upsets and cherished ideas, but it cannot fail to illuminate an episode that, rightly or wrongly, has come to be regarded as deeply significant in Australian history.". -- from the front fold over panel blurs.
