Kee wrote and presented the documentary series 'Ireland – A Television History' in 1980. The work was shown both in the United Kingdom and the United States and won the Christopher Ewart-Biggs Memorial Prize. Following the series' transmission on RTÉ, the Irish national broadcaster, Kee won a Jacob's Award for his script and presentation. The TV series was the impetus for the production of this book. Two nicks invisibly repaired in DW. 256+ Pages including detailed index. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. History of Ireland from 8000 BC to 1974. This is a book in excellent condition which is profusely illustrated in B/W and Coiour. Based on the PBS television series, this account of Ireland's complex history traces the nation's development and the forces that shaped it from the ancient period to the late 20th century. Still a benchmark book A great amount of detail concerning the conflict history between the followers of the two main branches of Christianity. Still the best book to consult on the historical run-up to the 'troubles'.
