About This Item
London, 1832. Engraved folding map, sheet size 67 x 54.5 cm, original hand colour, dissected into 18 panels and laid on linen, folding into brown cloth slip-case with printed paper label, minor wear. A key map at the foot is coloured to show the four historical provinces. This is a separately issued example of a map which also appeared in Arrowsmiths major work, his influential London Atlas of Universal Geography; many of the maps in the first edition of 1834 were prepared somewhat earlier, and carry a publication date of 1832.
