About This Item
Ipoh, Malaysia: Perak Academy, 2014. Revised. Paperback. New/new. Although Ipoh did not become capital of the state of Perak until the Japanese occupation, it had been able to boast as having more millionaires than any other Malayan town from well before that time. Ipoh's millionaires owned their wealth to being at the centre of one of the world's most productive tin mining areas. This book is not a straight forward history but conjures up Ipoh's past glories through vignettes of the characters who made and lost their wealth in the town. 726 pages with an index. This new edition has a foreword by Professor Wang Gang Wu. The two volumes are enclosed in an attractive slip case. Weight: 1.5kg Post free within Malaysia but will incur additional postage charges when posted elsewhere. Although the books are in a new condition, the slip case is slightly grubby
