In plain heavy paper wrappers (rubbed, chipped at edges, crack almost the length of spine, leaving front cover partially - almost wholly - detached, tanned and a little marked). Internally, some mild tanning, bookplate and stamp of Harlech College inside front cover, and smaller stamp in first page and inside rear cover, no title page, edge worn. An important little book, being Padraic Mac Pairais's first published book of short stories. Pearse believed that language was an inherent part of nationhood and national identity.
