Text block clean & tight with no writings or markings noted. Dust jacket in very good condition showing mild shelf wear and some edge wear and rubbing. Tiny chips at top and bottom of spine. Front of dust jacket contains a two inch gold sticker, the John Newberry Medal, for ""the Most Distinguished Contribution to American Literature for Children."" DJ not price clipped. Contains many illustrations throughout. Concludes with a Chronology of events in the life of Louisa May Alcott and a comprehensive Index.
