About This Item

Maurizio Martino Publisher, Cambridge, n.d. [c 1992] reprint of the 1931 first edition. Limited edition reprint of 250 copies. Cloth, 8vo, 278 x 210 mm,. xix, 643 pp. Approximately 15,000 entries. A key bibliography for ornithology, here in a good large-format reprint which greatly enhances the ease of reading the mass of detail provided in the notes. There is a 146 page introduction, consisting of 19 chapters with very good guides and references to the 19th century and earlier literature. This is followed by a classified index which gives the most important title by any one author, the rest being discovered by referring to the entries under the author in the main catalogue (pp 175-643). Many of the catalogue entries are well-annotated. Half-title a little marked, otherwise Near Fine.

About Wykeham Books

We specialize chiefly in "books about books", the emphasis being on historical aspects of book collecting, production and distribution. A particular speciality is in bibliographies, of all subjects of interest to collectors, dealers and scholars, with several thousand bibliography titles in stock. Other strengths include extensive holdings of auction catalogues for book sales and a good selction of reference material on and facsimiles of illuminated manuscripts. We also have a special interest in rare material by or about Rudyard Kipling.
