Paine was the author of Mark Twain's biography, and many other books, a well-known literary figure of the period. Condition is VERY GOOD ; mild shelf wear, covers very clean with faint sunning. Spine sunned and toned with small closed tear at head. Binding tight and text bright and unmarked with dedication on ffep, along with the review of the book from the Paris Times, pasted above that. Letters. Stax.
