(pictorial boards) [wear to edges and corners all around, gift inscriptions on inside front cover (in ink, dated 1970) and ffep (in pencil, undated but certainly preceding the other); normal light age-toning but still solidly bound]. (The Big Little Book, no. 1148) Series (cartoon illustrations) Globe-hopping espionage adventure, pitting a mysterious cloaked figure called "the Falcon" (looking like a cross between Dracula and The Shadow, and unrelated to the popular Leslie Charteris character), in the employ of the fictional country of Merovia (probably just south-southeast of Freedonia), against an arch-villain named Doctor Doom (unrelated to the Fantastic Four's arch-enemy, who wouldn't come along until 1962). .
