46 pages with plate of tournament scene and 4 tables. Royal octavo (9 1/4" x 6"). (Betts: 25-61; Bibliotheca Van der Linde-Niemeijeriana:5331) First edition.

Contains an introduction, all 42 games (30 with short annotations by the players), biographical sketches of the players and a history of the club. Five countries were represented, with the following contestants. J R Black, O Chajes and Frank Marshall represented the United States. J R Capablanca represented Cuba, J S Morrison, Canada. D Janowski represented France and while residing in Gary, Indiana, B Kotich represented Serbia. First, Jose R Capablanca with a score of 10 1/2, trailing well behind was Boris Kotisch with 9. Frank Marshall came in third with a disappointing 7. Fourth was Oscar Chajes with 6. David Janowski, another disappointment with 4. the other scores were Roy Black with 3 1/2 and J S Morrison with 2. Chajes and Capablanca one the two brilliancy prizes

Front wrapper detached else a very good copy of a scarce tournament.
