First UK edition, 8vo., pp.432, pictorial blue cloth, lettered in white to front board and in gilt to spine, and with illustration stamped in gilt and white to front board and to spine, b/w frontispiece portrait of the author with tissue guard; ink ownership autograph to front free endpaper, light rubbing to extremities, light crease to headband, light surface soil to fore-edges of text-block, a very good and internally clean copy, in unclipped dust-jacket, designed with oblique section to front, to reveal pictorial design to front board beneath, jacket is toned to spine, with chipping to extremities, including two chips lost to headband, small closed tears to extremities, and with 7cm closed tear to front of jacket, starting from foot of fold over joint. Dust-jacket is now in a protective cover.
