Boards very faded and rubbed with gilt titling barely discernible. 354pp. illus. + many b/w plates. Only two of the five maps present. Book has been exposed to damp storage and has some mildewed leaves. Many of the plates are loose. The binding is weak. Edges rough-cut and rippled. Cracks at both joints. Piece torn away from title page. The book has numerous defects but the text appears to be complete. Strictly a reading copy only.
