Hardcover is black with gold blindstamped picture and title on front, gold lettering on spine. Inside front cover is a bookplate matching this book, signed by the author, and stating 'A limited edition of 7500 of which this is number 3188'. The 3188 is handwritten into the blank. Grey endpapers. Pages are clean and tight; appears as if unused. Exhaustively illustrated with hundreds of b/w and brown monochrome photos. From the foreword: "....is a welcome and valuable contribution to a growing body of literature about our city. It also marks the first time the story of our city and its amazing transformation has been told by way of a major pictorial work....are filled with rare and delightful photographs, drawings, posters, and early advertisements...." Great book on local history of a major mid-western city. Oversized, 3#. ; B&W Photographs; 8 1/2 x 11 1/4; 208 pages; Cover has light bumping and shelf wear, some rubbing at head and heel of spine. Inside front cover two areas where tape or such appears to have been removed. Slight grayish smudge on upper corner of front endpaper. ; Signed by Author .
