About This Item
Chicago, Ilinois: R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company, 1917. Lakeside Classic 1917 . Hardcover. Very Good. 188 pages, including an index; plus a historical introduction by Dr. Milo Milton Quaife of 25 pages. Volume itself has dark green (almost black) cloth covers. There is wear at the head & tail of the spine and at the outer corners. The borders and lettering on the spine and front cover are gilt and sharp. The gilt at the top of the pages exhibits a bit of fade, the outer edge of the pages are deckled. There is a tissue guarded captioned frontispiece entitled "Fort Washington in 1790" that was reproduced from "Charles Cist's Cincinnati in 1851". The tissue guard has no apparent tears. The volume itself is protected in an archival quality clear protective cover; it is easily removed, if desired. No underlining, no highlighting, no bookplates, no owner names, not ex-libris, no dogeared pages, no smudges. A quite nice copy of a more than century year old book; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
