First edition, limited to 900 numbered copies of which this is one of the 650 printed on "Arte" paper. (Besterman III, 5158). Spine age-darkened and rubbed. Light wear to spine ends. A lovely copy. Full bibliographical descriptions of the books accompanied by many illustrations of 16th century Mexican publications, "the incunabula of America". Signed by the author on the half-title. From the reference library of Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts with their bookplate included.
