No dustwrapper, some bumping to spine ends and corners of green boards, some fading to spine and to boards from where the book has sat on a shelf with slightly smaller books, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. A satirical novel by the author, based on Aristophanes' "Lysistrata", but set in modern (at the time the book was written, i.e. the 1930s) times. the story, set during a European was which hadn't quite happened yet, involves the women of Britain protesting about the loss of their menfolk in the War by refusing conjugal rights to their husbands until the War ends, and eventually taking over Edinburgh Castle in protest. Signed by the author on f/ep. 312pp.. Signed by Author. First US Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
