An extremely rare pamphlet published in Finland by the Swedish-speaking supporters of Finland's fascist/pro-Germany political organisation, The Lapua Movement. The Swedish title translates into English as, "The Lapua movement, its origin and development, its aims and possibilities: Finland's Swedish population and the Lapua movement". Stapled wrappers, pp. 23. The Lapua Movement was a brutal anti-communist organisation which sought to elevate the "White" principles of the earlier civil war, including, Anti-communism. Lutheranism, and Finnish nationalism. Initially it attracted sympathetic support from prominent members of the establishment but its increasingly violent activities - not least the kidnapping and murder of Social Democrat politician Onni Happonen - could not sustain this and the movement was ultimately outlawed after a failed coup-d'etat attempt in 1932.… Read More

Very scarce. In Good+ Condition: light foxing throughout; several page opened carelessly; otherwise, clean and solid.

[Johnstown, PA?, 1890?]. 12-1/4" x 6" broadside, verse text in two columns below headline. Light browning, three horizontal fold lines, negligible light edgewear, a (tiny) bit of tape residue near top and bottom edges. $300. * Gork, born and raised in Johnstown, PA, failed to follow his mother's advice and turned to a life of crime. He blames his failure on alcoholism and calls for prohibition, which will "establish peace throughout our land" by driving "King Bacchus out." Our conjectured date for this piece is based on a reference in the first stanza to the Johnstown flood, which took place in 1889.

Original printing of this Royal English Act for "more effectually securing certain Duties on Malt, and for preventing Frauds by Makers of Malt from Beer or Bigg in Scotland." Very light creases from folds; some light soil to edges of first page, otherwise fine.

Marbling to edge of book block. Inscribed on title page in ink. Pages and text nicely preserved from the period. No worming evident. Book block sound. Great candidate for restoration.
