Condition of book: Small indents on fore-edge from filing on bookshelf; covers lift a tad from text block; light wear; else overall Near Fine. Book kept in temperature-controlled room. Free of the smell of cigarette or cigar smoker. Dustjacket: Shelf wear/short tears/rubbed mark; soiling mark to corner of top panel; lightly age toned (mostly at spine panel and folds), else overall Very Good. Protected in Mylar cover. This volume features 60 engravings, medals, and silhouettes illustrating the images of Thomas Jefferson. Without television, photography, or coins that pictured the head of state, the majority of Americans in Jefferson's days knew his likeness mainly from engraved prints. These images have never been collected in a single source, and many have never been reproduced. Extensive text accompanies the images. Historical, educational, insightful.
