Signed by Kevin Lynch on the front free endpaper, inscribed to Donald Schon, a fellow MIT professor whose bookplate is laid in, once attached to front paste down, glue remnant. Schon was a philosopher who invented the concept of "learning systems" to explain learning on a larger than individual level. His underlines and marginal notes throughout, else Very Good with rubbed edges, bumped corners, lacking jacket. vii, [1], 194 pp. Original navy cloth with gilt lettering. Early printing.
A landmark book of urban planning about how urban environments are experienced. The author, an MIT professor, conducted field studies of Boston, Jersey City, and Los Angeles for five years.
