About This Item
Stuttgart: E. Schweizeerbart'sche, 1913. First Edition. Blue Cloth. Very Good Minus/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Large. Illustrated. Type: Z 1138pp; 8pp of advertsements. First edition copy (1913). Numeorus text illustrations throughout. Bound in blue cloth with gilt embossed lettering to the spine and front board. Text in German. There is light fading to the spine and a light stain running the length of the front edge of the boards - not affecting the textblock in anyway. Split of 2.5 cm to the rear outer hinge from the head of the spine, now repaired. Light bump to the tail of the spine. There is a charming bookplate reading 'Ex Libris F. O. Mosley', to the front paste down. Some splitting to the front inner hinge between the title page and foreward page, leaving the front board a little shaken. Slightest of chipping to the front fore edge of the front end paper. Previous owners name inscription to the top corner of the half title page. Slight neat crease to one corner of the rear paste down and there are also a couple of light scratches to the front fore edges. The textblock remains clean and tight. A very good minus copy of this first edition.
