Rebacked, with new spine cloth. 264 pp, 266 pp. Scattered foxing throughout. 360 illustrations. From 1832 to 1839, George Catlin extensively studied 50 Indian tribes, taking careful notes on their behavior, traditions and ways of life. The first volume shows its original fold out map showing America with Native American tribes marked on the map. <br> The First edition was published in New York in 1841, under title: "Letters and notes on the manners, customs, and condition of the North American Indians."
