This is the rarely seen original 1904 first edition, not a later reprint or facsimile. Bound in the original full dark brown morocco over heavy bevelled boards, covers embossed in blind, front cover decorated in gilt, gilt inner dentelles, all edges gilt (spine is mostly perished, covers are detached, boards are rubbed, some page corners folded. Needs rebacking).// The general and introductory history is the production of Richard F. Steele. The special histories of Lincoln, Douglas, Adams and Franklin counties were written by Richard F. Steele, assisted by Arthur P. Rose.B/w Illustrations, Some Engraved Plates.
