First Printing of the author's tenth book, preceding Goodbye Mr. Chips and Lost Horizon. 8vo: [12],306,[2]pp. Publisher's brown cloth, upper cover and spine ruled and lettered in gilt, top edge stained chocolate-brown, illustrated dust jacket (by the inimitable Eugene "Gene" Thurstan, who illustrated many Mystery League titles) priced $2.50. A tight, Fine, unread copy in a better than Near Fine dust jacket (spine panel rubbed). First published in Britain, also in 1932, under the title Contango. Nine short stories illustrating how a single chance event begins a thread of connection among seemingly unrelated lives, beginning with a murder in the Far East. N. B. With few exceptions (always identified), we only stock books in exceptional condition, with dust jackets carefully preserved in archival, removable mylar sleeves.
