About This Item

Dordrecht: D. Reidel Publishing Co., 1984. Hardcover, [xi], 217 pages. Very Good+ condition. Size 9.75"x6.5". "This book brings together those elements from meteorology, physical oceanography, geodynamics and glaciology that are relevant to the study of climatic flucuations in which ice sheets are important. Emphasis is on the methodology rather than on historical development and descriptive aspects of the subject. Throughout the text, simple or more complex mathematical models are used to raise the level of discussion beyond that of qualitative reasoning. The central theme is how to generally model ice sheets for climate studies, but applications are also discussed (albedo feedback, Pleistocene ice ages, stability of the Antarctic Ice Sheet)." Book has moderate exterior shelfwear, else Fine condition, clean and unmarked.. Very Good+.
