203 pages. Octavo (8 3/4" x 5 1/2") bound in original publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine in original pictorial jacket. First English edition. In his foreword to this collection of thirty-five humorous pieces, and one other, Robert Graves tells how he came to write for Punch--to the danger, his friends said, of his stature as a serious writer. Condition: Previous owner name on front end pages, book dealer unobtrusive stamp on front paste down, corners gently bumped. Jacket corners and hinge corners rubbed and lightly chipped, small closed tear at front head hinge else better than very good in like jacket.
