Synopsis

Yves Lacoste is an eminent and internationally respected geographer. He is the editor of a well-known French journal, Hérodote , and the author of a number of works including The Geography of Underdevelopment and Unity and Diversity of the Third World . David Macey translated some twenty books from French to English. He was the author of Lacan in Context , the acclaimed The Lives of Michel Foucault , The Penguin Dictionary of Critical Theory and Frantz Fanon: A Biography . He died in October 2011.
