About This Item
Albuquerque, NM: Horn and Wallace, 1964 Horn and Wallace, Albuquerque. 1964. Hard Cover. First printed 1893. Stated First Edition. Book Condition: Near Fine; dedication to previous owner on FFFP. No DJ. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Pictorial end papers. Yellow cloth boards with bright black lettering on spine. 193 pp 8vo. Mrs. Lane's account of the period from 1854, when she married Lt. Lane, to 1870 when he retired from the service was definitely "Old Army". Written in a plain, factual manner without sentimental nostalgia for the past, this book tells one what it was like to be a soldier on the frontier in the late 1800s; the hardships and the happiness without any modern conveniences. A very presentable and clean copy in excellent condition.
