Very good. - Octavo, tan cloth backed decorative brown & tan paper covered boards titled in gilt within gilt-ruled brown rectangle on spine & with device stamped in gilt on front cover, in dw. The covers are bumped with small areas rubbed. The dw is lightly soiled & heavily chipped & torn with pieces out of the top edge & a large piece out of the tail of the spine. The dw front fold & spine are partially repaired with tape. 375 & [1] pp. Near fine internally. <p>First Swedish edition of "The Sheltered Life".<p>This is the author's own copy with her [Ellen Glawgow's] bookplate on the front pastedown.
