London.: George Allen & Unwin.. 1953.. Black and white illustrations, 175pp, index, dustjacket fading and damaged with loss, edges and preliminary leaves little foxed, neat paper repairs to reverse of dustjacket, still a sound hardback copy. China during the Second World War and immediately after. The author served in the Friends Ambulance Unit's China Convoy from the end of 1941 until the final months of 1944. He returned to China in November 1945 working as a Medical Supply Officer with UNRRA Mission until mid 1947. .
