About This Item

New York:: Julian Messner, 1957.. Book Club Edition.. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: pink binding; the top edge tint is dark green; a slight spine slant, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Good dust jacket.. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) . Description: Dust jacket art by Jon Nielsen. Judy Lansing, a high school senior very much wants to be a writer, in particular -- a reporter for the school newspaper. She is handicapped by her shyness, but still determined. When she is voted to replace a reporter and sent on assignment to a ski meet, she is eager, but worried about knowing nothing about skiing. A boy on the train, a classmate who has always seemed unapproachable to Judy offers to give her a quick introduction to skiing and she is surprised to discover that he, although from a well to do family, is also hungry for companionship. Eve Bennett grew up in South Dakota, and is the author of other teen novels for girls including April Wedding, Concerning Casey, and Little Bit.
