About This Item

Italia., 1820. Yellow decorated wraps, uncut and unopened. Demy 8vo (21,5cm). pp. 1-78 (11 Chapters and Appendices, 79-87 (Notes on 11 chapters and Appendices), 88 blank, 89-107 (Lettere a Baldassar Milano traite dall' Archivio de' marchesi di San-Geiorgio principi di Ardorf), [1] blank. Very Good. Fragile spine is chipped at head with light soil, stain and curling to cover. All sections unopened with sporadic dots of stain or foxing. Bookseller ticket neatly placed on front cover: "Stamperia e Libreria di Giovanni Silvestri agli Scalini del Duomo No. 994 in Milano". 'Sine ira et studio' is the phrase coined by Tacitus in his Annals: "without either bitterness or partiality/bias". Interesting short, historically researched (and impartial) biography on the Barges. Text in Italian..
