New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1902. Standard Library Edition. Hardcover. An attractively bound copy in Fine condition housed in a green cloth slipcase with morocco spine label, also in Fine condition. Originally published in 1885, this copy has been recently bound in half green morocco leather with matching corners and green cloth boards, new dark green endpapers, the spine lettered and decorated in gilt with four raised bands, top edge gilt; xii [2], 328 [2] pages. The original cloth covers and spine bound at the rear. Illustrated with drawings by R. Swain Gifford, J. C. Beard, A. B. Frost, Henry Sandham, and Fannie E. Gifford. SIGNED and dated by Roosevelt as President on the original front endpaper "with regards of/Theodore Roosevelt/May 2d, 1904." The Panama Canal Treaty was made into law two days later on May 4th, 1904.
