Signed by ALL of the renowned contributors who came together to create this special 100th anniversary edition to celebrate the publishing of the Snark by Alice in Wonderland author, Lewis Carroll (see details below). Illustrated by famed artist, Henry Holiday. Rare, with very few ever on the market. Quarto. 129 pp. + 54 plates. An absolutely amazing work and edition of this timeless classic. A true collector's copy.
Fine in a fine slipcase. Presents as new. Fine in publisher's eighth-bound burgundy leather, bordered in gilt, title text on spine in gilt; with light grey cloth and dark brown pastedown and front free endpapers. Internal content fine, as new. Slipcase fine, in burgundy with grey, pictorial full-page pastedowns on each side
The book includes all of the following: (1) The Deluxe Edition of The Annotated Snark by Martin Gardner. (2) The Designs for the Snark, by Charles Mitchell. Bibliography, (3) The Listing of the Snark, by Selwyn H. Goodacre.
Also included is a separate, complete set of 54 plates -- all fine -- of each illustration from the book.
Book design by Roderick Stinehour, and printed by the renowned Stinehour Press, in Lunenburg, Vermont. Signed by Gardner, Mitchell, Goodacre, and Stinehour. Printed on luxurious 80-pound superfine paper. Illustrated plates printed offset by the Meriden Gravure Company, Meriden, Connecticut.
