About This Item

George Allen & Unwin, London, 1935. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 127pp. Beige cloth lettered in green at the spine and with green-stamped decorations to the upper and lower boards. With a decoration title page, twelve header piece illustrations and two tiny vignettes. Binding a little tender at one gathering and with a touch of light soiling to the cloth. An inked date ('1937') to the front pastedown, partially obscured by the wrapper flap. A very good copy in slightly marked and tanned non-price-clipped dust wrapper, rubbed at the spine ends and with several tiny slivers of loss. Vita Sackville-West and Beverly Nichols both contribute four chapters (Vita's based on her 1933-34 BBC broadcasts), Marion Cran contributes three and Compton Mackenzie one. Uncommon. Cross & Ravenscroft-Hulme B16..
