About This Item

Chicago: The Swallow Press. Edition Not Stated . Soft cover. Very Good. Telberg, Val; Photomontages By. Copyright 1958. 72 pages. 1.00 price on front cover.

Synopsis

Originally published in 1936, House of Incest is Anais Nin's first fiction novel. This book is a surrealistic escape from a dream which she describes as "the woman's season in hell." Nin's usage of the word incest in this case is metaphorical, not literal; she intends the term to describe a selfish love where one can appreciate in another only that which is similar to oneself.
