New York: Cupples & Leon Company 1906, 1st American Edition. (hardcover) 318pp, +[2pp adverts]. Good, no dust jacket. 12mo. In original publisher's illustrated cloth binding. Binding with light rubbing at extremities from shelfwear. Tiny gouge at top-edge of rear board. Small, faint red stain to cloth on rear board. Binding a little shaken; starting at PP178 / 179 and pp258 / 259; early signs of starting else wear. All leaves and gatherings remain entirely secure. Illustrated with four colour plates (including the frontispiece.) after watercolors by H. Richard Boehm. Frontispiece with protective tissue guard. "Facsimile page of manuscript from the Image in the Sand" [p.3], lacking tissue guard. Internally, with only occasional light dirtying to margins (from the turnings of dirty fingers, no doubt). Else internally clean. An acceptable copy of this first edition..
