Signed by author (name written in both English and Korean characters) without inscription on half-title page. 1/4 inch closed tear to rear jacket edge, jacket faintly toned. 1965 Hard Cover. 184 pp. Original green paper over boards, black cloth spine, gilt titles. Black & white photographs, illustrated endpapers. Following her first book, September Monkey, which told of her childhood, The Hour of the Tiger is the story of Induk Pahk's struggle to open a school for underprivileged Korean boys, designed to teach students 'agri-business'. The project took Pahk across the United States and Canada on a fund-raising lecture tour, and culminated in the opening of The Induk Vocational School for Boys ('Berea in Korea').
