Detroit, MI: National Horseshoe Pitchers' Association, 1940. First edition. Pamphlet. Very Good. Thick pamphlet. Some wear to edges and corners. Staples rusty. Endpapers a little tanned, but other pages clear. 96 p. w/ illustrations, rules, history of horseshoe pitching, tips, constitution of the organization, history of part world tournaments, a discussion of a nationa league, and brief histories from various state associations. The exception is Iowa, which has a much longer and more detailed entry than the rest. This is an expanded and up to date survey and history of the game, the first being published in 1929. An important history of an American game, uncommon in its print form.
