The author, a man of vast experience of both riding and schooling horses, now turns his attention to horse control of the young horse. Stressing that patience and understanding are the keys to controlling, gaining trust and co-operation of the young animal, he will then lead you through the various stages of handling, breaking-in and early schooling of your young horse.  Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with rubbing to all other edges and a little bumping to the lower book corners. Age toning to the textblock edges and pages with some very fine foxing to the textblock edges. Offset tanning to the end pages with a gift inscription and previous owner's details sticker to the top right-hand corner of the free front end page. The previous owner had covered the dustwrapper in plastic and had used tape to fasten the plastic – which has left inevitable stains to the book panels. The dustwrapper is not in great shape – please see photograph. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and pop backstrip edge. There is a 2 inch tear to the lower left-hand corner of the backstrip with a horizontal tear which takes in the full width of the backstrip also present. Rubbing to the fold over creases, either side of the backstrip and a little to the dustwrapper panels. A crease runs the full length of the front panel and there are tape residue marks to the verso.
