London: Raphael Tuck, 1907. Calendar. Front cover titles "Highways & Byeways" & "Calendar 1908" has lost some of its gilt printing (still legible) Small front cover crease near main title. Has original silk hanging tie. Few odd fly specks some page edges.. Gilbert Wright. Contains 4 colour prints on light card (complete) images after paintings by English artist Gilbert Wright (1880-1958) Wright was a professional Royal Academy artist specialising in horse & dog paintings including coaches, horse racing, hunting etc. Item has front cover cut-out revealing first calendar print (Coaching). All prints fine condition, suitable for framing or collecting 'as is'. Print image size 19 x 13cms. Print titles: "Work & Play", "At the Smithy", "The Wayside Tavern", "The Huntsman's Inn". Overall very good condition Please note: Due to International mail delivery problems, we currently send items only to Australian addresses.

Adams was born to Nathaniel Dickinson Adams and Harriet (Hastings) Adams in Shutesbury, Massachusetts. On his mother's side, he was a descendant of Thomas Hastings who came from the East Anglia region of England to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634.[1] Adams received his early training in the Amherst, Massachusetts public schools and Phillips Exeter Academy. He graduated from Amherst College in 1872. In 1873 Adams traveled to Europe to study and write. In 1874 he then moved to Heidelberg, Germany to pursue the Ph.D. degree. There he was influenced by Johann Gustav Droysen and Johann Kaspar Bluntschli, the latter also becoming his mentor.
