London: New Cavendish Books. Near Fine in Very Good- dust jacket. 1992. First Edition. Hardcover. 0904568954 . Blue leatherette with bright silver titling to the front cover and spine. In the original publisher's glossy pictorial dust-jacket. Some slight wear and three small nicks/tears to the edges from storage, (now neatly closed to the reverse of the d/j with archive tape) but the d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Very Good Plus. The top edge and the page fore-edges have some very pale 'flecking' (very light tan foxing flecks). Internally a small patch to the top front edge of the plain grey end-paper, possibly where a price label once was, but NO Inscriptions or other Marks. Immaculate throughout. 628 pages. Text by Roger Beardsley. Preface by Allen Levy. Introduction, Acknowledgements. Index; and Index of Original Source Material for other volumes in the series. Fully illustrated throughout with well over 900 illustrations, including 265 in full colour. "Volume 8 in this great series is the final 'Companion' book. It includes copies of outfit instruction manuals, special purpose manuals, the Special and Super Model leaflets, books of new and prize models, the engineering manuals, promotional material, retail and trade literature, showcards and catalogues. The volume includes reproductions in full color of the complete Hornby Book of Trains for 1925/26, 1927/28 and 1933/34." . Wonderful Period Info and Illustrations.
