A concise and a comprehensive exposition of the subject, given by one of the foremost contributors to knowledge in this field. Corner was an American physician, embryologist and pioneer of the contraceptive pill. He has often been described as both a medical historian and a humanist. For his work Corner received an outstanding ten honorary degrees from various universities. Corner played a critical role in the discovery of progesterone, as well as educated a number of persons important in the world of sexual health, including: William Masters, Mary Calderone and Alan Frank Guttmacher.
