Garden City, New York: Doubleday, 1972. First Edition. Near Fine in VG+ unclipped dustjacket (edgewear and toning). INSCRIBED on title page “for Elie + Bernie Charles with our warm regards Selden Rodman Carole Cleaver Oakland, NJ 15 April 1979.” Eleanor and Bernard Charles were inducted into the Rockland Community Civil Rights Hall of Fame in 2012. Bernard Charles was the first African American councilman in the Town of Ramapo and Eleanor was a civil rights champion, teacher, and community leader. A nice association.
