London: Faber and Faber Limited, 1939. First British Edition. Very Good/Very Good+. First British edition. 387 pp. Publisher's tan cloth with blue lettering. Very Good with darkly foxed top-edge, upper tip of front board worn and bumped, spine leans, light foxing to endsheets, in Very Good+ dust jacket with chip in upper corner of front panel, rubbing, tape repair to verso of head. The author's second book of short stories, which some critics have argued are his strongest work. This British edition contains a whopping 15 stories not in the American edition. APG O'Hara 005c.
