About This Item

A later edition of book which was, we think, published in 1852 by Putman. This is volume III of an eight volume "cyclopedia". This volume focuses on the "useful art" such as agriculture, architecture, manufacture, etc. Illustrations scattered throughout the book.

The book is in remarkably good condition for its age. The cover has heavy shelf wear at corners and edges but the binding is still holding. The pages are in excellent condition. We skimmed through the book and could not find any marks, tears or foxing except for a stamped name and inscription on the second fly-leaf page, an impressed book-sellers I. D. on the third fly-leaf page, a smudge on the second title page, and a signature and date (1861) on the first blank fly-leaf page at the end of the text (see photos).
