About This Item
Privately printed, 1910. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Near Fine privately printed cloth edition with gilt lettering on cover. There is no publication information or date, etc. But it is undoubtedly a first and only edition. All indications point to 1910 as the likely date of publication. Contains thirteen sonnets celebrating the journey of the yacht 'Atlantic,' which set a world record in winning the Kaiser Cup in 1905. That record was not broken until 2005. A black and white picture of the yacht appears on the frontispiece protected by a tissue. The author of these poems, Clay Meredith Greene, was a prolific play and screenwriter who was born and lived his life in San Francisco. Binding and text are in excellent shape. Some soiling of white cloth covers. Moderate tanning to all pages commensurate with age. 10 pages.
