Visalia had some flood trouble in December 1955 from heavy rains but when it started raining on 23 January 1956, and Mill Creek started running right through downtown but not in its banks or on the streets, but below the concrete and the bursting out through weak spots in the concrete in the middle of town. The photographs and text seem to make light of the problem, but the people who were flooded out from below were not happy. A dam was eventually built along with some levees and the problem was taken care of. A clean very presentable copy.
