Katsushika Hokusai (October 31, 1760 - May 10, 1849) was a Japanese printmaker, painter, and draftsman. He was mainly concerned with making woodblock prints, better known as ukiyo-e. Hokusai has worked within all genres of ukiyo-e, but he became most famous for his landscape images. His life summarizes the transition from the elegance of printmaking in the 18th century to its zenith in the 19th century. His best-known works include The Great Wave off Kanagawa, the Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji and his Manga.

Terms and conditions of sale. Books are offered if unsold. The order of incoming orders will be respected strictly. Orders can be placed via e-mail (info@erik-tonen-books.be), or in writing, preferably not by telephone. The books that are offered online are not available at our bookshop at 48 Kloosterstraat. You will receive an e-mail confirming the availability of the book(s) and providing details with regard to shipment costs (we use Belgian and Dutch postal companies for the most cost-effective shipments. The indicated shipment costs have been calculated according to the rates for shipments of up to 2 kilo. We will choose the most cost-effective shipment option, depending on the weight: either letter post or parcel post. Payment must be made before delivery; ordered books will be reserved during 12 days in expectation of payment or confirmation of shipment. Payment can be made by transferring money to our Belgian bank; banktransfer IBAN BE48 4098 5839 0127 and the BIC (Bank Identifier Code)(swift) / KREDBEBB , Payment via Paypal account erik.tonen@pandora.be is also possible. Prices are net prices and free of VAT (margin arrangement) and expressed in euros. Shipment and payments costs are charged to the customer. Each shipment contains a delivery slip. Ordered books will remain our property until payment has been received. Our books are shipped in decently packaged form; The state of the books is not specified if the works are in good condtion (smaller, minor defects such as an ex libris stamp, a name on the first page, minimal wear and tear etc. are not specified, unless specifically requested). If the ordered works do not match the specified description, they may be reshipped within seven days after receipt, after prior notice.
