About This Item

London and New York: Heinemann and Comet Books, 1949. UK edition is probably first; US edition is stated first paperback printing. Hardcover and soft cover. US: very good. UK: good/poor. Brown, Paul. UK edition: 273p, many line ills. US edition: 243p, many line ills., now with green overlays. All ills. by Paul Brown (except US covers), including endpapers, front cover, and jacket of the UK edition. The UK edition is ex-college library, with decaccession ink stamp on front endpaper and blind stamp on title page. One gthering is splitting, as pictured. Here's a special combination for dedicated Paul Brown collectors! In the UK edition, the settings and place names have been changed from Connecticut to Dartmoor, and British terms have replaced American ones. Some passages describing landscape have been added. The story of Terry White, her cousins, and the spirited chestnut hunter Cassandra is the same. In the US paperback, some of the illustrations have been changed or rearranged. Price is for the two. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
